1 mistake – poor quality foundation

Make sure that slag is not added to the cement, which is neither cement nor a binder – it will subsequently collapse.

The process for mixing the mixture is to add cement and water, stir, add crushed stone, and then add sand. Strength is ensured with this mixing order. Under no circumstances should the mixing order be altered, as this will result in a 30% reduction in the foundation’s strength. Cement grade 500, when combined with crushed stone and sand in a 1:3 or 1:5 ratio, has the best strength for small construction. In this case, the strength is 200 or 300, meaning that 1 cm2 of foundation can support a load of 200 or 300 kg, which is more than sufficient for a bathhouse.

Please be aware that in below-freezing temperatures, the foundation cannot be poured. The temperature needs to be +5 degrees or higher for the foundation to be considered normal. By pouring hot water of 70 degrees onto the stones (never cold – the stone will crack), steam will begin to be released. The main thing here is to determine whether the steam is pure or mixed; to do this, you can hang a white sheet in front of the stones and after the steam has dissipated, see whether it is clean or not.
