When designing this Euro-style apartment, the designers at Buro Brainstorm were inspired by a shelving unit from the Kazan brand Yaratam and ordered a similar one made of laminated chipboard. It fits well into the existing niche and adds personality to the interior.

The main storage is concentrated in a large cabinet near the window. In this two-room apartment, designer Pavel Foteev created a beautiful mid-century interior with a touch of nostalgia and artifacts of Soviet life. For example, architect Ekaterina Lyubimkina did not install wall units in the main room of the house, but used furniture with a steel frame, adding graphic elements to the interior. The bar cabinet was an original and functional solution. This pleasant home accessory will undoubtedly be the center of attention on holidays and special days, delighting its owners and their guests.
Furniture arrangement around the sofa
An interpretation of the classic “wall unit” is a composition of furniture around the sofa. This idea was implemented by designer Ilona Orekhovskaya and architect Ekaterina Loskutova from the VizDiz studio in a 59 sq. m. two-room apartment. They installed mezzanine cabinets above the sofa and a display cabinet with glass doors on one side of the sofa. This provided storage space without making the interior look cluttered. The white color and glass fronts lighten the composition and make the interior more airy and spacious.
As you can see, giving up a massive wall unit is not a loss of convenience, but rather a step towards a more modern and individual interior. You free up space and give yourself room for creativity.
